Alex Goff Rocks

My name is Alex Goff and I grew up in a suburb 45 minutes north of Dallas called Flower Mound. The only music I knew about as child was Disney, church, Elvis, and Michael Jackson. And when Guitar Hero 2 hit the market, it introduced me to the rock world. 

The next couple of years my foundation would begin. I being young and hearing The Police sing “sending out an SOS…” and thinking it was the coolest song I’ve ever heard. I also remember saying I discovered a song called “Guns N Roses” by a band called “Sweet Child o’ Mine”. Just to show you how little I knew. 

But I evolved, learned and grew into a pre-teen that wanted drums. But then my friend told me if I got a bass I could join his band. About one month later I was learning songs on the bass. This happened to be when I was discovering my all time favorite band - RUSH -. So I discovered a cheat code in learning music; even if you are a beginner, just immediately start learning and drilling Rush songs. I believe this got me up to speed faster than usual. 

In Highschool I saw older bands playing and really wanted to be in one. I formed a group with some friends called Corporate Airwaves. All of our gigs are still on YouTube. We were a mix of the 90s alternative grunge with the 70s progressive sound. It was great but time pulled us apart. 

At this point I had moved to Austin, Tx.

Another band with almost the same lineup of guys was called Tapazana. A made up word after we saw a really bad painting and couldent tell if it was Frank Zappa or Carlos Santana. We were hard rock with a flare of progressive. Played five gigs and fizzled. 

Lastly there was another great band project called The Mother Vibe. There are also videos of us still on YouTube. (A single tear drops from my eye STILL referring it as “us” even though it has been defunct for so many years). We were a latin modern rock fusion. We used to say imagine combining Santana with the Arctic Monkeys. It was really cool. We had a trumpet player, conga player, organ, the whole 9. 

But we could never find the right band members. It unfortunately turned into a revolving door of potential musicians. And COVID was the final nail of the coffin. 

I wanted a major change of course so I moved back to Dallas to work from 2020-2025 I spent a lot of time reinventing, honing my craft, and making a debut solo record. Also I heavily began making social media content. This stemmed from always having midnight conversations on patios and talking to people about rock and they would ask me “how do you know all this?”. Well, there were a lot less of those conversations after COVID, and I thought, why not make videos talking about some of this stuff. 

Also, I began going to NAMM which taught me that LA was the capitol of rock ‘n’ roll. 

My work had an opportunity to move to LA so I jumped on the opportunity and havent looked back. I moved here January 2nd, 2025. I didn't know anybody. I didnt even know what venues to go to. Literally alone with a guitar. I made an excel spreadsheet and began going to every show I could find.

About a month after Ozzy passed the Whisky held a huge tribute show for him and in line I met Adam Eagle. We talked for a while and exchanged contact information. He came over to my apartment and liked the music I was writing. Long story long, we made a band. He got his friend (now my friend also) Ben on board and we began practicing in July. 

I am incredibly enthusiastic for my band, my content, and the future of rock n roll. I am just having a blast doing what I love and I hope to do it all as long as possible.
